Does anyone know what may be wrong with our Motorola Sat
phone....? It has developed a black line, running horizontally across the screen, (.5cm) about a third of the way down. Any Ideas, on how to fix.

Sounds like a crack in the LCD screen or a line of the crystal display has lost power/function, new screen will fix it.

Satfone repairs
You could look here for a fix but may not like the prices.
Google Motorola satfone repairs or the same on Ebay but not much on there ATM
